The weekend is decided by distance before taste
Thursday night, two candidates left. One is a regional festival with a night program, an hour from Seoul by KTX. The other is a daytime festival two hours away by car. Which one saves the weekend? TRAVEL
The travel-time rule — two hours and four hours
One pair of numbers is enough for distance.
- About 2 hours one-way → lean day trip. One festival plus one or two nearby stops makes a full day.
- About 4 hours round trip or more → overnight is the default. Night slots erase the ride home.
- These are biases, not laws. Leave Friday evening and return Sunday morning, and the same distance feels completely different.
HOURS
Hours, last entry, and last transit on one line
Write official hours, last admission, program slots, and the last train or bus on a single line. Regional night festivals often end after the last transit, and that gap becomes a taxi fare or a hotel bill. When in doubt, secure the return first and build backwards. If you drive, add temporary parking and shuttle rounds to the same line.
RECHECK
Crowds and weather — re-open Thursday or Friday
Re-check the plan Thursday or Friday morning: partial cancellations in official notices, wind and rain in the forecast, and today's dates on This weekend.
