Da Nang Pham Van Dong OceanSight 7 nights 8 days — a window studio to My Khe

The terms of this stay

In mid-August 2026 I spent 7 nights and 8 days in Da Nang. This trip leaned closer to living than to sightseeing. A rhythm of opening the laptop in the daytime, going down to My Khe Beach in the afternoon, and solving dinner near the stay. That meant the room could not be a place used only for sleeping.

The conditions narrowed to three. A big window with a workable desk. Meals solved on foot. A short distance to the beach. OceanSight Hotel&Apartment was a studio in the An Hai Bac end of Pham Van Dong that had all three. It was an Airbnb in the 30,000-40,000 KRW-per-night range at the time — about 1 minute by Grab to My Khe Beach, and about 15 minutes to walk back slowly, still wet.

The third-floor window becomes a studio

The selling point of the third-floor room was the window. By day the building across and the ridge behind it came in; at night, the sidewalk lights. Sitting at the desk in front of it, I ended up spending most of each day here. Coffee down, screen up, screen folded as the sun tilted — that rhythm held for all 7 nights.

It was not perfect. The chair wobbled, and the sink dripped faintly. The manager responded right away, so it never became a big problem, but the finishing of the place speaks its price range plainly. Still, it matched this trip's premise: to live and work at a window desk.

A day solved inside the block

Everything daily sat within a short radius of the stay. Mornings started with mi quang and a salt-coffee takeaway from PHIN on the same block, set on the desk; around lunch, an egg banh mi from nearby. Dinner was a seafood table at Xeo Xeo right in front of the stay, or a mango salad at the pocha in the back alley.

The density of this neighborhood was the good part. A day stood on its own without going far, and the sidewalks and alleys of Pham Van Dong were themselves a walking course.

The My Khe loop

The beach was the other axis of this life. One minute after calling a Grab. On evenings when I sat on the sand with a bottle of 1664 Blanc, the trip felt real. In the daytime I swam under the green parasols, dried off in front of the red DA NANG BEACH sculpture, and walked back. I wrote the back-and-forth separately in the My Khe walk post.

Days beyond the block

I did not stay inside the block for all 7 nights. There were days I sat at Wanderlust in the Han Market area and worked through the afternoon, or went out for the Son Tra night market and Da Nang Hàn River nights. Those days meant a long Grab ride, but the same window was always there when I came back.

Summary — who this stay suits

OceanSight is a stay you use like this. A trip of working at the window, shuttling to the beach, and eating inside the block. If you expect a resort-style holiday or hotel service, it is not that. The wobbly chair and the dripping sink were the upkeep cost of this price range.
